What do we do at Pharos Law Group?

We do specialized legal work.

Not really a surprise answer. But it is important to note that our law practice is limited to a few specified areas of the law, namely corporate law, business formation, business operations, mergers and acquisitions and estate planning. We normally do not accept clients or cases in areas of the law in which we are not qualified to work.

If something comes along that falls outside of our core competency, we will politely decline the representation, but then also help the inquirer to find an attorney or other professional advisor who is best equipped to meet their needs.  I mention “other professional advisor” because in addition to not attempting to practice in all areas of the law, we likewise do not provide accounting, financial advising, insurance products or any other related professional services.

Just as your financial advisor should not do legal work, so also, your attorney should not do your accounting or try to act as your financial advisor.  To analogize, we all recognize that dentists do dentistry and cardiologists handle things relating to the heart. Accordingly, none of us would ask our dentist to perform heart surgery or seek to have the heart surgeon do a root canal.  While this separation of specialties and competencies is clearly understood in the world of medicine, it is sometimes overlooked and forgotten when it comes to non-medical professionals.  So again, if you are looking for an attorney to handle your bankruptcy or write your patent, we are not the right fit–but we gladly help you find the right attorney for each such task. Likewise, if you are looking for accounting, tax planning and/or financial advisor services, we will be happy to recommend some fine CPAs and financial advisors with whom we work on a regular basis.
